Why Isn't My [Niche] Site on Google's Front Page?

Say you run a coffee shop that focuses on organic Colombian coffee beans, your website may be dedicated to that particular topic alone, containing tons of information. Since you know there’s a ton of consumers concerned about only buying organic products, you might think your website would be receiving tons of visits and that when you Google “organic Colombian coffee in my town” your website would be the first to pop out. But what happens when it doesn’t?

Niche websites, which is what you call that kind of sites, are a lifesaver for many of us. They contain specific information on one particular topic, whichever it may be, and rely on the specificity of the content to attract an audience. However, having that kind of content will not be enough to guarantee that your website will be the first to pop up in search results, it might not even be on the first page at all. Why is that?

When it comes to niche websites, and any other kind of website, really, it’s critical that the content (which is often referred to as copywriting) is redacted in a way that’s optimized for advertising or marketing. This is known as SEO (Search Engine Optimization). But how does it work?

SEO might sound intimidating at first, but it’s basically based on the use of certain key phrases or key words that will help more people find your website. Those key phrases or key words are the ones people use to look for information online and sometimes are not as intuitive as it may seem. These phrases must be included in the content of the website in a way that reads natural while remaining relevant to the topic of your website.

The more those phrases match the actual terms people use when searching for information online, the more readily available your website will be displayed on Google Search Results. As you can tell by now, the websites that Google displays on its front page when you look for anything in particular are the ones that create their content with SEO in mind, regardless of the topic of the website.
